A Little Good News on the Van
SUMMARY: no side/frame damage
Just got a call from the shop. The damage was confined to the rear of the van. The grating/grinding of the side door was not anything bent; it was just dirt. My guess is that the collision must have knocked some stuff loose and into the door's track. So they cleaned it out and said it sounds fine now. Hallelujah!
They think they'll have it done next Wed or Thurs.
Asked the shop to give me a side estimate for the year-old driver-side door damage; as long as it's in there, might as well have that taken care of, too.

That *is* some good news! Congratulations!
Wonderful news! Bet you're breathing easier now. I can't figure out how you get the dogs into their crates in the rental van, if the crates sit sideways?
That's a good question. Crate doors are usually at the ends of the crates. Boost's is sideways on top of the folded-down passenger seats, so her door opens right at the back side passenger door, no problem. When I bought a second crate, I discovered some that have doors on 3 sides, and I thought to myself, hmm, someday that might come in handy! and I think that this is about the 3rd or 4th time that it really has.
Phew! Glad to hear the good news.
